The International Sculpture Symposium “Impression of Hue – Vietnam 2008”

As a traditional prelude event of Festival Hue, the 5th International Sculpture Symposium entitled “Impression of Hue – Vietnam 2008” will take place from May 1st to June 5th, 2008 at Abalone Resort & Spa (Thuan An town, Hue City).

Building on the success of previous four sculpture symposia in 1998, 2002, 2004 and 2006, the International Sculpture Symposium in Hue 2008 continues to be an opportunity of cultural and experience exchanges for international sculptors and Vietnamese ones, bringing art to life and beautifying Hue’s space.

So far, there have been 19 international sculptors from 16 countries, namely Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Peru, Philippines, Thailand, UK, USA and 8 Vietnamese female sculptors registered for the 2008 symposium.

During the symposium, sculptors will have chance to visit well-known scenic sites and the royal monument complex of Hue as well as enjoy Hue Court music. These activities will expectedly inspire sculptors’creativeness with their own insights of Hue City and Hue people. All sculptures from this symposium will contribute to the sculptural collection at the City’s International Sculpture Garden – a modern cultural and art venue of Hue City, the unique festival city of Vietnam.
